A distraction-free workspace with no background noise during live interactions, a door you can close so customers never hear the rest of your household, reliable electricity, and room to keep your equipment permanently set up.

A wired Ethernet connection with at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Wi-Fi, satellite, and mobile hotspots don't qualify for live programs — voice quality depends on a stable wire.

Modern multi-core processor (6 cores recommended), 16 GB RAM, and Windows 11 Home, Pro, or Workstations. Some programs also support macOS — the listing tells you before you commit.

1920 × 1080 resolution or higher. Several programs require dual monitors for working tickets and knowledge bases side by side — you'll see this requirement in the program listing.

A corded USB headset with noise cancellation is required for every voice program. Bluetooth and analog (3.5mm) headsets introduce latency and noise, so they aren't supported.

The latest version of Chrome or Edge, kept up to date. Program tools are tested against current releases, so outdated browsers are the most common cause of avoidable tech issues.

Active firewall and antivirus, automatic OS updates enabled, full-disk encryption, a screen lock, and two-factor authentication on your phone. Programs handling payments or health data verify this before every shift.
